About the event

Adapting Your Tax Planning for a Post Pandemic Economy

Tony Rule (Partner at TAG Financial Services) will provide you with practical examples on how to structure your business to maximise your opportunities.

The ability for business owners to save tax with last minute payments and accounting adjustments have been wound back in recent years to the point where a number of owners no longer participate in tax planning for their business.  This “tightening of the screws” is likely to continue as the Federal Government looks at ways of rebuilding its reserves following Australia’s “all-in” response to Covid including Jobkeeper and related stimulus measures.

The nature of effective tax planning has evolved in recent years moving away from a short-term transactional focus to longer term structural efficiencies.  With changing tax rates, asset protection and succession readiness becoming more important to business owners, an effective group structure can help create significant tax efficiencies whilst also meeting the demands of securing valuable assets and positioning yourself for a transition to the next generation.

We will also be looking at how business owners can release themselves from “business lock” – having all of your assets tied up in your business.
