Mark Templeton (TAG Managing Director) recently celebrated a significant milestone – 30 years as a CPA.
Here’s Mark’s reflections:
“I have never been one to celebrate milestones, but I felt a need to personally go to my 30-year ceremony. I wasn’t sure if it was acknowledging the hard work to obtain and maintain my CPA status or just an opportunity to have dinner with my wife after the ceremony but it ended up as an opportunity to say thanks! I sat next to a man who also was receiving his 30-year achievement. We both chatted about why we were there and didn’t just receive it in the mail. Anyway, we got along well and discussed our businesses that had grown over that time. At the end, his wife came up to us, and I instantly recognised her – it was my first supervisor as a graduate at the Victorian Auditor General’s office 30 years ago. She was patient and intelligent and helped start my journey in the workforce in the right direction – it was fantastic to see her and gave me the opportunity to say thanks.”
